Our Unprimed Birchwood Panels are solid and handcrafted to be strong yet surprisingly lightweight, and their unprimed raw birch surface can be prepared to accept virtually any artistic medium including encaustic, oils, acrylics and mixed media.
 
The panels allow for painting with encaustic media without having to prime panels with gesso.
 
The larger sizes are reinforced to handle the weight of the wax.
